Biography

Bernard Gorcey was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He created the role of Isaac Cohen in "Abie's Irish Rose" on the stage. In his early acting career, Gorcey appeared in such films as "The Great Dictator" (1940) featuring Charlie Chaplin, "Out of the Fog" (1941) and "In Fast Company" (1946) with Leo Gorcey. Biography

Bernard Gorcey was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He created the role of Isaac Cohen in "Abie's Irish Rose" on the stage. In his early acting career, Gorcey appeared in such films as "The Great Dictator" (1940) featuring Charlie Chaplin, "Out of the Fog" (1941) and "In Fast Company" (1946) with Leo Gorcey. He also appeared in "No Minor Vices" (1948) with Dana Andrews and the comedy "Blonde Dynamite" (1950) with Leo Gorcey. He kept working in film throughout the fifties, starring in the drama "Pickup" (1951) with Hugo Haas, "Hold That Line" (1952) and the Leo Gorcey comedy "Jalopy" (1953). He also appeared in the Leo Gorcey comedy "Loose in London" (1953). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Leo Gorcey comedy "Jungle Gents" (1954), the comedy "Paris Playboys" (1954) with Leo Gorcey and "The Bowery Boys Meet the Monsters" (1954). He also appeared in the comedy "High Society" (1955) with Leo Gorcey. Gorcey last acted in the Huntz Hall comedy "Jail Busters" (1955). Gorcey had two children. Gorcey passed away in September 1955 at the age of 69.
